Unfortunately for both Dwayne Johnson and Larry David, neither of them even made the Top 5 when it came to sexy famous bald men. Instead, the Top Five was rounded out by some other actors and sports stars. Along with Mr. William in the #1 slot, famous boxer and bald man Mike Tyson was #2. Following Mike Tyson was Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs and Shaw co-star Jason Statham, singer Pitbull and Michael Jordan, who needs no introduction (info via The Sun ).
As for Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm ’s “bald bastard” — a nickname that used to make Larry David laugh on set — told Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago that he had “never flirted with a toupee,” embracing his baldness proudly after Kimmel asked him if he was self-conscious about his hair loss.
Anyway, as of yet, Larry David has not commented on The Rock’s pronouncement, but I doubt The Jungle Cruise star is the only one on the interwebs to feel this way.

When NBC’s Young Rock unveiled a presidential run in 2032 in Dwayne Johnson’s future, many wondered if it was something the actor was serious about. He confessed if the people wanted it, he’d be interested , but at this point, it seemed like something put in the show to make it more interesting.
However, the latest episode of Young Rock may hint at the fact the Hollywood icon actually does want to run for president.

In the series, his campaign slogan is “Just Hang On, I’m Coming,” but the real-world Johnson didn’t indicate his political affiliation or platform. Interestingly enough, as he addresses critics in the storyline, they’re coming at him from the perspective that celebrities shouldn’t run the country, which is a clear dig at Donald Trump’s administration. But while the Rock plays it off with humor, as this episode rolls on, he doesn’t make light of the situation. He’s with his own team and talks about the struggles real Americans face, especially in the employment sector. A major point is modernization and how technology and robots are replacing the human resource aspect of the workforce, which leads to him talking about how he cannot let his people get left behind.
The icing on the cake comes when the episode ends and segues into a PSA that doesn’t even need to be part of the show to hit home. Set to a triumphant, patriotic score, Rock makes it clear he’s got the people’s back in a packaging warehouse as he delivers his message alongside a diverse crew of workers working in tandem with robots on the production line.
“That’s why, as your president, I will make sure none of us get left behind, and that change benefits all , not just some,” he says looking into the camera. “Because when I see you, I see my grandmother. I see my mother and father. I see that we’re part of One Family Called America . I’m Dwayne Johnson and I approve this message.” It’s a powerful statement of love and unity and comes off as genuine, warm, engaging and reassuring, which really makes it seem like the Rock’s laying the groundwork down for a run at the Oval Office.
Dwayne Johnson Reportedly Wants Top Billing In All His DCEU Projects
Dwayne Johnson is one of the most famous people on the planet and the biggest star in Hollywood, so when he appears in anything you can guarantee his face is going to be plastered all over every imaginable piece of promotional material. It also helps that he’s a one man marketing and publicity machine, able to reach hundreds of millions of fans on social media while also balancing one of the busiest schedules in the business.

You can bet that he’s going to be taking on a huge role in the franchise in the years to come, and insider Daniel Richtman is reporting this week that Johnson wants top billing in all of his DCEU projects, which is admittedly a vague statement to make. Obviously he’s taking top billing in Black Adam seeing as he’s the lead, but the tipster is probably referring to any potential crossovers appearances that he may or may not be making in the future.
Of course, it’s not like he’s going to show up in Shazam! Fury of the Gods or Aquaman 2 and dislodge Zachary Levi or Jason Momoa as the first name in the credits, but if there’s ever another DCEU all-star outing in the vein of Justice League , then you’d expect Dwayne Johnson to be listed first and foremost anyway given his sheer level of popularity and standing in the industry.

Followers of The Rock know his history with the practical fashion accessory well. In 2014, Johnson posted a vintage 1990s photo of himself to Instagram in which he sported a tight black turtleneck, metal chain and leather fanny pack. Uli Latukefu, who plays Johnson during his college years, was tasked with recreating the infamous photo in episode four.

“I had the turtleneck and fanny pack scene. It made me so nervous,” says Latukefu, speaking from Brisbane, Australia, over Zoom, while his two co-stars joined in from Canada and Los Angeles. “… I will say, John Tui, who plays one of the Wild Samoans [in the show], he has a massive fanny pack. He loves it and carries it everywhere. One time I lost my wallet, well, several times while we were shooting. He said, ‘See, you need a fanny pack.’”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the three young actors didn’t actually get to meet Johnson in person but spent time video chatting with him to prepare for the role.
“He’s so easy to talk to, it’s like talking to your best friend almost,” says Groulx, who plays Johnson at age 10 and jumps to answer every interview question before his co-stars despite being … only 11 years old.
“He’s the most followed man in the world, but when you’re talking to him, it doesn’t feel like you’re talking to someone with all these accolades behind him,” says Constant, who plays a trouble-making teenage version of Johnson. “He just seems like a normal guy.”
“It sounds like a broken record, but honestly, it’s the same feeling for me,” says Latukefu, who consumed 6,000 calories a day to bulk up into a defensive lineman and looks so ripped that one might assume he’s wearing a muscle suit.
“I had a couple similarities from when he was a child,” says Groulx. “I love my dad and am super attached to my dad. Just like Little Dwayne, we do everything together. Also, I’m the rambunctious kid that Dwayne used to be. All I had to do physically was grow out my hair and I was all set.”
“I grew up watching ‘The Wonder Years.’ You two wouldn’t know what that was …” says Latukefu.

In 2019, nearly 80 full years after he made his comic book debut in Whiz Comics #2, Shazam (or as he used to be known, Captain Marvel) finally made his cinematic debut, with Shazam! becoming one of the most critically acclaimed movies in the DC Extended Universe. Originally the plan was for the superpowered Billy Batson to fight Black Adam in his origin story, but it was later decided to pit the hero against Dr. Thaddeus Sivana instead. As for Black Adam, it was announced in early 2017 that he would instead debut in his own movie , although rest assured, there will almost certainly come a day when Shazam and Black Adam finally fight on the big screen .
To say Dwayne Johnson has been itching to play Black Adam for a long time would be an understatement. In the late 2000s, years before the DCEU was a thing, Johnson was in talks to play Black Adam in an earlier incarnation of the Shazam! movie. Then in September 2014, it was officially announced that Johnson would appear as Black Adam in the DCEU’s Shazam! . Of course, the 2010s have seen Johnson’s popularity in Hollywood skyrocket, so it makes sense why Warner Bros and DC decided to give Black Adam his own movie. Admittedly, his Fast & Furious character Luke Hobbs is basically superhuman, but Black Adam will give Johnson the opportunity to finally delve into the comic book movie realm. In addition to playing the Kahndaqian anti-hero , Johnson is also executive producing the project.
Another one of Justice Society’s younger recruits is Maxine Hunkel, a.k.a. Cyclone, who’s the granddaughter of Ma Hunkel, the Golden Age Red Tornado. While her grandmother was a powerless crimefighter, Maxine is able to manipulate wind, a power she gained after being experimented on as a child by Dr. T.O. Morrow, the creator of the Red Tornado android . Black Adam will be the first time Cyclone has appeared outside of the comics, and Quintessa Swindell, who starred in the Netflix series Trinkets and is appearing in the upcoming Voyagers , will play the character .
Nearly two decades after his tenure as James Bond ended, Pierce Brosnan is finally entering the superhero movie space as the final member of the Justice Society of America. He’ll star in Black Adam as Kent Nelson, a.k.a. Doctor Fate , one of the most powerful sorcerers in DC Comics lore. Kent is the first of many individuals to serve as Doctor Fate, having debuted in the comics in 1940. Brosnan is the second 007 actor to star in a DC Comics project, as Timothy Dalton currently plays Dr. Niles Caulder in the HBO Max series Doom Patrol . In recent years, you might have seen Brosnan starring in movies like The Foreigner , Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga , or maybe you caught his stint as Eli McCulloch on the AMC series The Son .
Directed by Jungle Cruise ’s Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam was once supposed to come out in December 2021, but right now, it’s undated . It takes a lot of work to be the biggest movie star. Dwayne Johnson shared a photo of himself resting and recovering, while reflecting on his long list of injuries. In his post, The Rock, who was the highest paid actor in 2020, reminded people to “take care” of their bodies.
“Even though I look like a wounded, passed out drunk buffalo laying face down in prairies – can’t tell ya how grateful I am for these quiet healing/recovery moments,” he wrote, before sharing everything he’s endured.
“4 knee surgeries, Torn quadricep off my pelvis, Torn adductor off my pelvis, Triple hernia surgery, Ruptured Achilles’ tendon, Completely shoulder reconstruction, 3 low back disc herniations, 2 low back disc ruptures,” the 48-year-old actor listed, adding, “It’s the daily reminder that we only have one body and we gotta take care of it…”

Sure, the times her dad stirred her awake to watch classic films like “Ben-Hur,” “Guys and Dolls” and “Casablanca” set the foundation for how she thought critically about storytelling and character building. But more memorable were the moments she would gather with her extended family, many of whom didn’t speak English, to get lost in the rowdy world of professional wrestling — swept up in the theatrics of characters like Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan and the Iron Sheik.
“It’s not like we could sit around and watch like ‘Laverne & Shirley’ together, because they couldn’t understand what’s up,” Khan says. “But we could all watch wrestling together because there is a spectacle there that they understood. They understood the storytelling. It’s transcendent, in a way. That shared experience, to me, is what makes me so nostalgic when I look back on that time, in that era.”

Video-calling recently from her office in Hollywood, Khan talked about shooting in another country during a pandemic, her biggest regret from her days running “Don’t Trust the B—,” and what it’s like getting frequent voice memos from The Rock. The following conversation has been condensed and edited for clarity.
The writers room for “Young Rock” opened a few weeks before lockdown restrictions in the U.S. shut down many film and TV productions. Then the staff transitioned to a virtual writers’room.
Because of lockdown restrictions in the U.S. that shut down many film and TV productions, “Young Rock” headed to Australia last fall to begin production. The sitcom’s set was at Screen Queensland Studios, but the comedy also shot on location in and around Brisbane and South East Queensland.
The COVID-19 protocols were obviously something that none of us had ever gone through, so we were sort of finding our way through that. Things you don’t even think about — like going out scouting and the scout van, normally there’s one big bus or whatever, and everybody goes, but now you’ve got to only have a limited amount of people. So it’s just a whole new way of thinking about prep and shooting. Luckily, though, being down [in Australia], you can still do stuff with more extras than you can [in the U.S.]. But everybody’s in their bubble, everybody gets tested. So it was sort of just understanding that and then once you embrace that, it becomes almost like second nature and then you can kind of refocus a little bit on the creative, which is what you want to do, right? You want to be sure that everybody is safe, but then you want to just be like, “OK, how do we get this done?”
“Don’t Trust the B— in Apt. 23,” the misfit comedy starring Krysten Ritter as Chloe, a scammer roommate in New York, was the first series Khan created. Originally developed for Fox, it ultimately moved to ABC where it fizzled after two seasons in part because of a confusing release strategy. Beyond the controversy spurred by its title, staying true to the series’ eponymous b— often proved to be a challenge on network TV.
I think it was probably an ongoing battle. Everybody was very supportive at ABC at the time of this show, but it is still a network show. So there was [the] broadcast standards thing that we were always coming up against. And we were the latest slot of the comedy block — we were a 9:30 show — but even with that, people were nervous. It’s ABC, which was not known at the time for pushing the boundaries.
You have to follow your instinct. I love collaborating, I really do. And there are a lot of smart people that work at the studios and the networks. Doesn’t mean you take every single note, but I think there are really good notes and really good feedback. But I do think that if there are things that feel wrong and things that feel like they will compromise the character or the story, that’s the thing that you push back on. Even that sounds silly, that example of that kid drinking, but that was a story point. And that showed the audience that this woman will go there; she will do that.
It’s not unusual for sitcoms to have episodes air out of order during their broadcast run — a network decision that is made for a variety of reasons even though it can be narratively confusing for viewers and creatively discouraging for the show’s writers. “Don’t Trust the B—” experienced such a rejiggering during its original run on ABC, which frustrated Khan. (The series can now be streamed on Netflix in its intended order.)

The 48-year-old said that they caught the virus from “very close family friends,” who are “devastated” that they spread the virus. The star added that it has been “one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family.”
“Testing positive for COVID-19 is much different than overcoming nasty injuries or being evicted or even being broke, which I have been more than a few times,” said the Jumanji actor. “The reason why I feel this is different is because my number one priority is to always protect my family and protect my children, my loved ones.”
While Johnson shared that the family are now “good” and “healthy,” he said he and his wife, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary last month, had “a rough go.”

Johnson told his followers he recommended getting all house guests to test for COVID-19 before they visit. He also urged fans to wear their masks.
“This baffles me that some people out there, including some politicians, will take this idea of wearing a mask and make it a political agenda,” he said. “It has nothing to do in politics.”
“Wear your mask. It is a fact, and it is the right thing to do. And it’s the responsible thing to do,” Johnson continued.
“I’m not a politician. I am a man though, who cares about my family deeply and will do everything I can to protect them. But I’m also a man who cares about all of you guys. I don’t care what political party you’re affiliated with. I don’t care what part of the world you’re from. I don’t care what your skin color is, what your job is, what your bank account says. I don’t care. I do care about all of you. And I do not want you or your entire family to get COVID-19.”
